Geography Unit

Geography is one of the most exciting subjects to study at university. We live in an interdependent world that relies in chains of events which span the globe. We depend upon an increasingly fragile physical environment, whose complex interactions require sophisticated analysis and sensitive management.

The Geography Unit at Marian University College (MARUCO) plays a major role in providing core and elective geography courses, for the BSc with Education and BA with Education degree programmes.

The Unit aims to make contribution to the scientific understanding of societal issues such as environmental pollution, climate change, nature and landscape management, soil and water management, exploitation of underground resources, rural and urban development and international development collaboration.  Courses offered challenge students' ability to integrate theory and practice for the analysis, understanding, and management of environmental and environment-related problems among others.
